As we all readied to change into our gowns, the rain began to fall, cleansing the day of anything prior and preparing our hearts for the joy that was about to fill them. Just as the ceremony ended, the rains cleared to make way for an evening on the farm full of love, fun and gathering. This weekend was a long time coming and it is my honor to finally share with you Laura and Kyle’s beautiful marriage day!
First looks are always some of my favorite images. Laura and Kyle chose to have no one watching and keep this moment entirely private. I love that and Kyle’s reaction melts my heart. 
Can you believe these views are in Iowa?! Lake MacBride State Park has so many little hidden gems and we were lucky enough to have Justin take us to them! Though, I think these two would have made any vista or location stunning!
We had to move to plan B for the ceremony due to showers, but it turned out even more intimate and just perfect under the porch. It’s a really good thing we made the call, too. It poured mid-ceremony. My favorite detail of the ceremony was the archway that our mom and step-dad made from wood on the property. 
For the reception, we headed over to the family acreage and celebrated! There were yard games, a trail mix bar (for our hiking, nature loving couple) and a fire pit with s’mores after dinner! We even had homemade pulled pork, which made this gal super happy. Every single aspect of the decor was handmade by family members, including the two large harvest tables used for the head table. Every detail of this day was created lovingly by a family member or friend, making it that much more cherished everywhere you turned.
Looking back over the entire weekend and especially wedding day, words just simply escape me. There is no combination of letters that will ever communicate the joy, love and full but tired hearts we all had at the end of the night. What a whirlwind and beautiful beginning to your next chapter, LB & K! Whatever adventures you embark on next, we can’t wait to hear all about them. Welcome to the family, Kyle, we love you!
